How to pay for charging – the new European AFIR regulation
Since April 2024, the new AFIR regulation has applied at public charging stations, making charging accessible to everyone without registration or complicated apps.
- For DC stations > 50 kW: A physical payment terminal is mandatory. You simply pay by card on the spot, just as you would in a shop.
- For AC stations (and DC below 50 kW): Simply pay via the QR code on the station's display. Once you have scanned the QR code on the display, you can pay by card or instantly via your bank – no app or registration required. For security reasons, the QR code is shown only on the display.
- Transparent pricing and quick charging start-up – you only pay for what you actually use.
