We understand that choosing your first wallbox or charging station can be a bit of a puzzle. What should you keep in mind when choosing, and how do you specify your requirements? A well-chosen wallbox will last and serve you for many years. With the right choice, you can save a great deal of money.

We want a wallbox for our company
Yes, the word wallbox has become the accepted term for charging stations. More precisely, it is a charging station mounted on a wall. Many retailers offer it in this form. Do you actually have the option of mounting the charger on a wall at your premises? If so, you can choose from our wallboxes e:car WALL PRO, e:car DC WALL, or alternatively e:car WALL, which are better suited to private use, though use at a business is not ruled out. It depends on how they are used and on your requirements.
How much does a wallbox cost?
Although they may look similar, their prices can vary considerably. Our wallboxes are available from 14,900 CZK excluding VAT for a wallbox with a single charging point in the form of a socket in the BASIC variant, while a wallbox with two charging points in the form of a socket can be had for 58,000 CZK excluding VAT, as this is already a professional charging station with billing metering, compliant with both Eichrecht and AFIR, which can be operated as a public or semi-public station.
What are the requirements for the supply cable?
We are asked this question very often, and it is not entirely straightforward to answer. We need to know:
- how many charging points (how many cars will be charged at once),
- how far the charging station will be from the distribution board,
- what power output you will be charging at,

- are you planning more stations in the future?
For home wallboxes, charging stations with an output of up to 22 kW, a 5 × 6 mm² cable (CYKY-J 5x6) is used for a length of up to approximately 30 m
For longer distances: 5 × 10 mm² (to minimise voltage drop and overheating of the wiring)
What protection do we need?
When designing the protection for various options of charging electric vehicles via a wallbox, the total power output must be taken into account.
A residual current device (RCD) is integrated into all of our charging stations.
Below are the protection options for the most common charging scenarios:
1) Charging one car at 11 kW (3×16 A)
2) Charging one car at 22 kW (3×32 A)
3) Charging two cars simultaneously at 2×11 kW (3x32 A)
Note: The SMART and PREMIUM wallboxes feature dynamic load management, so the protection can be dynamically adjusted to suit the available capacity of the main circuit breaker.
