DC rapid charger with CCS Combo 2 connector
The e:car DC WALL 40 is a wall-mounted DC rapid charger for electric vehicles with an output of up to 40 kW, an output voltage of 200–1000 V DC and a current of up to 130 A. An optional MID billing meter on the DC output and OCPP support allow operation in public and commercial charging networks with energy billing. Designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic.
Key features
MID billing meter
The metered variant has a MID meter on the DC output. It measures the energy actually delivered to the vehicle, allowing it to be billed to end customers.
Communication and authorisation
OCPP 1.6J and OCPP 2.0.1 for connection to a back-end system, a 13.5 MHz RFID reader and Plug & Charge to ISO 15118-2. Prepared for bidirectional charging to ISO 15118-20.
Connector temperature protection
Two sensors in the CCS connector monitor temperature from −40 to +180 °C. At 90 °C the charger stops charging automatically.
Efficiency and cooling
AC/DC converter with up to 96 % efficiency. Active cooling and a vertical finned heat sink remove heat from the power electronics, even under sustained load.
Cable and connector
3.5 m CCS cable with an integrated holder that keeps the cable off the ground and takes its weight during handling. The connector is rated for more than 10,000 mating cycles.
Controls and signalling
Physical push buttons instead of a touchscreen, a Stop button and RGB status lighting. The 7″ display behind the glass front panel can also show advertising or video.
