The rules for charging-station grants are changing for 2026. Households have two paths – the one-off „Oprav dům po babičce“ grant or the new New Green Savings interest-free loan; businesses are waiting for a possible follow-up call of the Electromobility Guarantee. We have summarised what applies now, how much you can get and what a station must meet for an application to succeed.

Households: Nová zelená úsporám
Households have two options in the New Green Savings programme (State Environmental Fund):
- The „Oprav dům po babičce“ grant: CZK 10,000 per charging point as part of the photovoltaics grant; in this programme PV is only supported together with insulation.
- Interest-free loan (NZÚ 2026+): the charging station is an eligible expense of the loan, usually together with photovoltaics; the state pays the interest and the applicant repays only the principal.
- NZÚ Light for low-income households – the station as an eligible expense.
Conditions that decide approval:
- Combination with photovoltaics. Under the Oprav dům po babičce grant a charging point is supported only as part of the photovoltaics grant, and photovoltaics only together with insulation.
- Dynamic power management. The station must be able to manage charging power according to the connection status and PV output. The e:car WALL SMART and PREMIUM wallboxes do this; the basic BASIC without management does not qualify.
- Documents. Invoice, inspection report, station datasheet with confirmation of power management and photo documentation.
For NZÚ, applications for projects started in June 2026 and the selection of interest-free loans at banks from September 2026. The exact conditions are published by the SFŽP in its binding guidelines.
Watch the order of steps: the station must have dynamic power management from the moment of installation. Retrofitting a basic station on paper is usually not enough for the grant – choose the SMART version right away.
Apartment buildings and owners' associations
Owners' associations and housing cooperatives apply under New Green Savings for apartment buildings. In the 2026+ model this is an interest-free loan whose eligible expense also includes a charging station – usually combined with photovoltaics. The condition is shared power management of all stations in the building (load management) so charging does not overload the main feed. Companies and sole traders: Záruka Elektromobilita
The programme of the Ministry of Industry and Trade together with the National Development Bank combines a bank guarantee for a loan with a financial contribution. In the first call the financial contribution per charging station was up to CZK 50,000 (AC), CZK 100,000 (DC up to 40 kW) or CZK 150,000 (more powerful DC) and up to CZK 300,000 per vehicle. The free guarantee covers up to 70 % of the loan principal (for 5 years, minimum loan CZK 300,000). The guaranteed loan for a charging station:
- AC station (wallbox): loan up to CZK 100,000,
- DC station up to 40 kW: loan up to CZK 250,000,
- DC station over 40 kW: loan up to CZK 400,000.
Entrepreneurs of any size could apply, including sole traders (de minimis regime). The first call is exhausted and applications are closed (the NRB received 5,907 applications). A follow-up (2nd) call has not been decided yet – we are watching and will let you know. We recommend having a station offer ready in advance so an application can be submitted as soon as any call opens.
For the application it is enough to attach the IONT tech offer for the supply and installation of the station. We cooperate with most leasing companies and will prepare the documents.
Public charging and municipalities
The Ministry of Transport announces calls for publicly accessible charging stations from the National Recovery Plan and the Transport Operational Programme. The last call supported ultra-fast DC stations with battery storage up to 60 % of eligible costs. Support from IROP is also being prepared for municipalities to renew the fleets of offices, schools and social services, including infrastructure.
How to apply step by step
- Choose a station that meets the conditions. Dynamic power management, metering, and for businesses possibly OCPP and a billing meter. At IONT tech these are the SMART and PREMIUM versions.
- Get an offer and a connection design prepared. This includes assessing the main breaker and designing the feed.
- Submit the application. Households via the AIS SFŽP system, businesses via their financing bank or leasing while a call is open, municipalities according to the specific call.
- Installation and inspection. Installation by an authorised company, an inspection report, photo documentation.
- Documentation and payout. Invoice, inspection report, datasheet, and for NZÚ a confirmation of power management.
The most common reasons an application fails
- A station without dynamic power management. The most common household mistake: a cheap wallbox with fixed power does not meet the NZÚ condition and cannot be retrofitted with a seller's certificate.
- A missing inspection report or a report from a person without authorisation under Act No. 250/2021 Coll. Arrange the inspection during installation, not at the time of submission.
- A charging station submitted on its own without photovoltaics (and, under Oprav dům po babičce, without insulation).
- Invoice mismatch. The invoice must be issued to the applicant, itemising the station, installation and inspection. A lump-sum "electrical work" item will not convince the assessor.
- Financing without an NRB guarantee (for businesses). The Electromobility Guarantee is tied to a loan or lease guaranteed by the NRB; a cash purchase does not create eligibility.
- A missed deadline. Calls are exhausted within months – the first Electromobility Guarantee call ended before the planned date.

What about support for apartment buildings?
