Households: Nová zelená úsporám
The New Green Savings programme of the Czech State Environmental Fund supports an EV charging point with CZK 15,000 (about EUR 600) per point, at most two points per family house, up to 50 % of eligible costs. The conditions that decide approval:
- Combination with photovoltaics. The charging point cannot be supported on its own; it is applied for together with a photovoltaic installation or as part of a wider measure.
- Dynamic load management. The station must be able to control charging power according to the connection and PV production. The e:car WALL SMART and PREMIUM wallboxes meet this; the BASIC version without load management does not.
- Documents. Invoice, electrical inspection report, the station's data sheet confirming load management, and photo documentation.
For 2026 the programme reopens charging points from September 2026. For most households the support is also shifting from a direct grant to an interest-free loan, where the state pays the interest and the applicant repays only the principal. Exact conditions are published by the fund in its binding guidelines.
Apartment buildings: CZK 25,000 per point
Owners' associations and housing cooperatives can receive CZK 25,000 (about EUR 1,000) per charging point under New Green Savings for apartment buildings, CZK 35,000 for buildings owned by municipalities and public bodies. The condition is joint load management of all stations in the building so that charging does not overload the main supply. The practical procedure including the owners' meeting is described in our guide to charging in apartment buildings.
Companies and sole traders: Záruka Elektromobilita
The programme of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade with the National Development Bank (NRB) combines a bank guarantee for a loan with a financial contribution. In the first call the contribution was up to CZK 200,000 (about EUR 8,000) per passenger EV, up to CZK 300,000 per truck or hydrogen vehicle, and for charging stations:
- AC station (wallbox): up to CZK 50,000 (about EUR 2,000),
- DC station up to 40 kW: up to CZK 100,000 (about EUR 4,000),
- DC station above 40 kW: up to CZK 150,000 (about EUR 6,000).
The condition was financing by a loan or lease guaranteed by NRB (guarantee up to 70 % of the principal, minimum loan CZK 300,000) and registration for income tax. Businesses of any size could apply, including sole traders. The first call is exhausted; NRB received 5,907 applications. The ministry is preparing a second call with similar parameters. We recommend having a quote for the station ready in advance so the application can be filed as soon as the call opens.
A quote from IONT tech for delivery and installation of the station is enough for the application. We work with most leasing companies in the Czech Leasing and Finance Association and prepare the documents.
Public charging and municipalities
The Ministry of Transport announces calls for publicly accessible charging stations from the National Recovery Plan and the Transport Operational Programme. The latest call supported ultra-fast DC stations with battery storage up to 60 % of eligible costs. Support from IROP for the renewal of municipal, school and social service fleets including infrastructure is also being prepared.
How to apply step by step
- Choose a station that meets the conditions. Dynamic load management, metering, for companies possibly OCPP and a certified energy meter. At IONT tech these are the SMART and PREMIUM versions.
- Get a quote and a connection design. Includes an assessment of the main fuse and a supply design.
- Submit the application. Households via the fund's AIS SFŽP system, companies via NRB or a leasing company, municipalities according to the specific call.
- Installation and inspection. Installation by a licensed firm, inspection report, photo documentation.
- Proof and payment. Invoice, inspection report, data sheet, for New Green Savings confirmation of load management.
The most common reasons an application fails
- A station without dynamic load management. The most common household mistake: a cheap fixed-power wallbox does not meet the condition and cannot be "upgraded" by a dealer's letter.
- Missing inspection report or a report from a person without a licence under Act No. 250/2021 Coll. Arrange the inspection with the installation, not at filing time.
- A charging point filed on its own without photovoltaics or another supported measure in a family house.
- Inconsistent invoices. The invoice must be issued to the applicant with the station, installation and inspection itemised.
- Company financing without the NRB guarantee. The programme is tied to a guaranteed loan or lease; a cash purchase does not qualify.
- Missed deadline. Calls are exhausted within months; the first Záruka Elektromobilita call closed before its planned date.
